Tonight we masked off the white areas of the shuttle with painter's tape.
Here is J painting the black areas. He had a bit of a hard time with the spray can. It took fingers from both hands to get it to spray while dad held the can. He did a really great job.

Really creative space derby design. Where did you find the NASA/USA stickers?
To make the stickers we printed the logos from the internet on a color printer. We put clear packaging tape on the printed side (j-lar brand). Then put double sided tape on the back (dp380 from shurtape). Then we cut them out as close as possible with x-acto #11 (on a self healing cutting board). then pealed off the tape liner and stuck them on!
